Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Reach your Goals
The road to a healthy heart starts here. The cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs at the Sam B. Cook Healthplex are structured with one overriding goal in mind: to help you live your life with all your heart. Whether you are rehabilitating after surgery, experiencing pain, managing a disorder or illness or promoting wellness, our cardiac nurses will assist you in reaching your goals. Our programs are specially designed for people recovering from heart disease, heart surgery, congestive heart failure or a cardiac or pulmonary event.
Custom to YOU
Cardiac rehabilitation typically includes a 12-week, EKG-monitored program designed specifically with you in mind. You’ll meet with staff three days a week and follow an exercise prescription program designed to strengthen your heart and cardiovascular system.
Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to help individuals who live with chronic lung diseases such as emphysema, asthma, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and pulmonary fibrosis. The goal of the program is to limit the progression of the disease while helping patients lead a more fulfilling life.
A physician’s referral is required because our cardiac nurses work closely with your physician to develop safe and effective therapy programs, allowing you to improve your overall heart and lung function.
