Take Control of your Diabetes

Capital Region Medical Center teaches patients how to manage their Diabetes diagnosis through the help of Medical Nutrition Therapy with a Certified Diabetes Educator. 

Get Referred 

A physician’s referral is required for Medical Nutrition Therapy. Our staff works closely with your physician to develop an effective diabetes management program that gets you back to your daily activities.

More Resources Available

Capital Region provides participants of Diabetes Education with several other resources to help manage their diabetes.

The Diabetes Self-Management Workshop is a free, six-week group class that is available for those with diabetes, pre-diabetes and their caregivers. Topics of the workshop include dealing with symptoms of diabetes, fatigue, pain, hyper/hypoglycemia, stress and difficult emotions; exercise and nutrition; medication usage; reading food labels and working more effectively with healthcare providers. The AIM Diabetes Support Group meets the second Monday in January, March, May, July, September and November. The group meets at the Southwest Education Classroom from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
